Jay Hancock has been involved in the Tulsa music scene through show booking, record store working, or dj’ing under the name Sweet Baby Jaysus since ‘94. Violet Rush has worked on several zines (“She God” and “Prophecy Factory”) and is prepping the debut of her new band: BITCH CRAFT.

Where did you fall in love?
On the couch watching black-metal documentaries. Specifically, Until The Light Takes Us and Once Upon A Time In Norway: The History Of Mayhem.

Stones.

The Conjuring

Ideal superpower?
Violet: Ending Capitalism.
Jay: China in 30 years.

It depends.

Jay: Primus’s “Suck On This” on cassette (because I was poor and couldn’t afford a CD player in the 80’s).

Violet: Paula Abdul’s “Forever Your Girl” on cassette (which I stole from my cousin when I was six. I still have no regrets).

Last fight you had about music?
When she was right about Christopher Cross singing “Ride Like the Wind.”

Dressing like a punk from 1977 is neither threatening nor original. You just look like a jackass.

First concert together?
Boris/Thrones/Pinkish Black followed by Acid Mothers Temple two nights later.
