OPENING NOVEMBER 9

“Wildlife”
Filmed almost entirely in Enid, OK, this Montana-set story follows the deterioration of a marriage in 1960. Starring Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal, it’s the directorial debut of actor Paul Dano. Special Q&As follow screenings on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 10 at 4:30 p.m. Rated PG-13. (See our feature story about the production.)

“Can You Ever Forgive Me?”
Melissa McCarthy stars in this true story of celebrity biographer Lee Israel who forged letters by famous people for profit. Rated R.

“Beautiful Boy”
Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet star in this true story about a father who tries to save his son from drug addiction. Based on the memoirs by father and son David and Nic Sheff. Rated R.

OPENING NOVEMBER 16

“Boy Erased”
Lucas Hedges stars as a teenager who’s sent to gay conversion therapy after he comes out to his Baptist preacher father and mother (played by Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman). Rated R.

“Border”
This Swedish-language thriller follows a customs officer’s unusual attraction to a strange traveler. Rated R.

SPECIAL EVENTS

“Cowboy Bebop”
Circle Anime Club presents this feature film based on the popular anime series, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Rated R. (Fri. & Sat. November 9 & 10, 10:00 p.m)

“The Daughter of the Dawn (1920)”
Second Saturday Silents presents this restored silent filmed in Oklahoma with an entire cast of Native Americans. Bill Rowland accompanies on the Circle’s 1928 pipe organ. Tickets $5 for adults, $2 for 16 and under. (Sat. November 10, 11:00 a.m)

“A Poem Is A Naked Person”
This documentary about Tulsa music legend Leon Russell, filmed between 1972 and 1974, will be introduced by Russell historian Steve Todoroff. (Sat. November 10, 2:00 p.m)

“Vamonos con Pancho Villa (1936)”
Cine de Oro Mexicano presents this classic Mexican film about friends who join Pancho Villa’s revolution only to become disenfranchised by its cruel realities. (Tue. November 13, 7:00 p.m)

“Rocky IV (1985)”
The Cold War bout that pits Rocky Balboa against Soviet Ivan Drago. It screens in anticipation of “Creed II”, which serves as a sequel to the film’s events. (Fri. & Sat. November 16 & 17, 10:00 p.m)

“Point Break (1991) / Gary Busey book signing”
Tulsa’s Oscar-nominated actor Gary Busey will sign copies of his new book “Buseyisms”. His 1991 action classic “Point Break” follows. Tickets $35 for both, includes book copy. Single film tickets available. (Sun. November 18, 1:00 p.m Busey book event; 4:00 p.m. film)

“NT Live: The Madness of George III”
This new Olivier Award winning production stars Mark Gatiss (“Sherlock”, “Wolf Hall”) in the title role as the 18th Century English monarch who progressively succumbs to lunacy. (Tue. November 20, 6:00 p.m)
