A historic union

Mary Bishop and Sharon Baldwin greet well-wishers following their wedding ceremony Oct. 6 on the steps of the Tulsa County Courthouse. Bishop and Baldwin were the lead plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Oklahoma's ban on same-sex marriage, which they filed in 2004. They were finally issued a marriage license after the U.S. Supreme Court denied Oklahoma's appeal in the suit, and they exchanged vows later that day.
